Discover the transformative potential of Schema Therapy, a groundbreaking and integrative approach designed to address the most challenging issues in treatment.

Developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young, the Schema Therapy method expands upon traditional cognitive-behavioural treatments, integrating elements from cognitive-behavioural therapy, “parts” therapies, attachment theory, psychodynamic concepts, and emotion-focused therapies.

This course, led by Wendy Behary, MSW, LCSW, delves into the core principles of Schema Therapy, placing a strong emphasis on lifelong patterns, affective change techniques, and the therapeutic relationship. Special focus is given to powerful interventions such as imagery rescripting and empathic confrontation.

Schema Therapy is well-suited for use with difficult, resistant clients and chronic psychological disorders, including personality disorders (such as BPD and narcissism), eating disorders, and persistent relationship problems. It has also proven effective for relapse prevention in depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

Backed by evidence, this course addresses the frustration experienced by clients who have gained insight through other treatments but struggle with progress. The active, systematic, flexible, and depth-oriented approach of Schema Therapy provides a unique toolkit for mental health practitioners seeking impactful results.

This dynamic learning environment incorporates lectures, handouts, video clips, demonstrations, interactive Q&A sessions, and discussions on overcoming obstacles in the treatment room, including exploration of therapists’ own schemas.

Elevate your therapeutic practice with the comprehensive insights and skills gained from mastering Schema Therapy.
