
Lawrence Shulman, MSW, EdD
Lawrence Shulman, MSW, EdD is one of North America’s leading teachers of supervision practice. Former Dean of the School of Social Work at the University at Buffalo, he has done extensive research on the core helping skills in practice and supervision. He is used widely as a training consultant in the US and Canada. He is the author of the entry on supervision in the Social Work Encyclopedia and Interactional Supervision, 4th edition published in 2020 by the National Association of Social Workers Press. Cengage Press published his practice textbook, The Skills of Helping Individuals, Families, Groups and Communities, 8th edition, in 2018. Dr. Shulman has received the Council on Social Work Education’s Significant Lifetime Achievement Award.
