Description

In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), its impact on mental health practice is both groundbreaking and uncertain. This symposium serves as your portal into this rapidly unfolding landscape.

Our journey begins with Dr. Amelia Fiske from the University of Munich, who explores the increasing clinical relevance of embodied AI, discussing innovations from ‘virtual psychotherapists’ to social robots in dementia care and autism disorder.

Next, we delve into presentations by two pioneers in AI integration: Dr. Jessica Stone, based in Colorado, introduces the Virtual SandTray App and how it is revolutionizing digital sand therapies and extending insights into AI’s role in youth mental health. Dr. Albert “Skip” Rizzo from the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies explores the evolution of AI in mental health practice, highlighting its positive and negative impacts and sharing insights gained from creating “Ellie” and developing SIMCOACH for PTSD screening.

Concluding the symposium is Dr. Simon D’Alfonso, an Australian expert in Cyberpsychology, who provides a comprehensive view of the current AI landscape, shedding light on functionalities, workings, and future prospects.

Join us for an engaging exploration where AI and psychotherapy intersect, revealing new possibilities and witnessing the future of mental health care unfold.
