Description

Enhance your therapeutic toolkit with this comprehensive workshop on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) led by renowned expert Sheri Van Dijk.

Originally developed for borderline personality disorder, DBT has gained prominence for its effectiveness in addressing emotional dysregulation across various conditions.

Sheri will delve into the foundational principles of DBT, distinguishing it from traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Beyond theoretical understanding, participants will engage in practical applications, discovering how DBT techniques can be seamlessly integrated into their practice for clients dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other emotion dysregulation-related challenges.

Through a dynamic blend of insightful lectures and experiential exercises, attendees will master the four essential modules of DBT skills—Core Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Gain the expertise to not only grasp these skills personally but also effectively impart them to your clients, fostering emotional well-being and resilience.

This workshop goes beyond the basics, guiding participants in structuring DBT sessions to provide the necessary support for dysregulated clients. Additionally, Sheri will share valuable insights on employing DBT strategies to enhance the therapeutic relationship, optimize therapeutic outcomes, and mitigate the risk of therapist burnout.

Join us in this transformative workshop to elevate your therapeutic practice and empower your clients on their journey to emotional regulation and well-being.
