Description

Through psychotherapy, we see somatic experience providing feedback not only about the self, but also about other people and our environment.

Embodiment is an ever-changing, dynamic relationship between the individual, their circumstances, their relationships, and the world at large. This perspective allows us to attend not just to our personal wounds, but to the impact of collective trauma in our clients lives as well.

Collective trauma refers to the impact of traumatic events on groups of people, communities, and society as a whole. And when the wounds of one generation remain unresolved, they can be passed on as a legacy to future generations.

This engaging and experiential presentation introduces an integrative, mind-body approach to working with collective and generational wounds drawn from EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology. Inspired by her work on post-traumatic growth, Dr. Schwartz will highlight the resilience of the human spirit, even in the face of adversity.
