Description

Intimacy and personal connection are especially important during changing times because changing times seem to throw us off balance. Whether turning to the wisdom of ancient prophets or the science of modern meteorologists, we want to know what the future will bring and how to stay safe. During changing times, our health, prosperity, and even political and social structures shift. So, it’s no surprise that anxiety, depression, substance use, and domestic violence are on the rise.

How can we help our clients (and ourselves) cope during these rapidly changing times? One way is through establishing intimacy and safe, interpersonal connection.

As humans, we’re a social species who have been huddling together for support for millennia. Yet other forces get in the way. Our hunger for individual success, status and achievement of all sorts can make it hard to connect. It becomes challenging to open to our shared vulnerability and find refuge and intimacy in our common humanity.

In this interactive virtual workshop, you’ll learn practical tools to help you and your clients find meaning, comfort, and equanimity during these changing times. We’ll explore how to let go of preoccupations with social comparisons and build intimacy to connect more deeply with others. We’ll delve into how to feel good about ourselves and avoid letting vulnerability get in the way of authentic relationships. We’ll also use mindfulness and compassion practices along with proven relational techniques to find comfort, grow and prosper during trying times.
