Clients with high-functioning adult ADHD don’t always present like you expect—which is why their struggles are often misunderstood or misdiagnosed. This course will help you spot what others miss and give you the tools to make treatment more effective.

High-functioning adult ADHD is more common in therapy rooms than many clinicians realize. Clients may appear successful or organized on the outside, yet privately struggle with chronic disorganization, procrastination, inconsistent motivation, and strained relationships. Without identifying ADHD as the root cause of these challenges, therapists risk missing crucial opportunities for meaningful, lasting change.

This engaging, strategy-rich webinar with renowned ADHD expert Ari Tuckman, PsyD, helps mental health professionals recognize and respond more effectively to high-functioning adult ADHD in clinical practice. You’ll learn how ADHD impacts self-concept, emotional regulation, productivity, and relationship dynamics—even when clients are highly intelligent, driven, or accomplished.

Recognizing ADHD in “High-Functioning” Clients

Clients with high-functioning adult ADHD often mask their difficulties well—until their coping mechanisms collapse. This course will help you better identify ADHD-related patterns in individual and couples therapy and understand how these patterns influence client goals, therapy progress, and engagement.

Treating High-Functioning Adult ADHD as a Core Issue

You’ll explore evidence-based ways to talk with clients about ADHD—what it is, what it’s not, and how it affects their daily lives. Topics include how to normalize the diagnosis, discuss medication without stigma, and help clients make informed choices about treatment options. You’ll also learn how to support clients in challenging the negative narratives they’ve internalized over years of struggling in silence.

Improving Daily Life and Relationships

Therapists will come away with practical strategies to help clients improve executive functioning at home and work, enhance self-awareness, and navigate interpersonal dynamics more skillfully.

✔ Highlights include how to:

  • Recognize the signs of high-functioning adult ADHD in therapy
  • Address common misconceptions around diagnosis and treatment
  • Equip clients with tools to boost productivity and emotional regulation
  • Improve relationships through ADHD-informed communication strategies
