Matthew D. Skinta, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical health psychologist and an Assistant Professor at Roosevelt University. He is a peer-reviewed acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) trainer, and is certified as a compassion cultivation training (CCT) teacher and as a trainer of functional analytic psychotherapy (FAP). Dr. Skinta co-edited Mindfulness and Acceptance for Gender and Sexual Minorities: Contextual Strategies to Foster Self-Compassion, Connection, and Equality, and authored the upcoming book, Contextual Behavior Therapy with Sexual and Gender Minority Clients: A Practical Guide to Treatment.
